What kind of job could I get if I take the "Medical Language for Health-Care Providers" Class in the hospital?

I’m 17 turning 18 in 3-4 months and was wondering what kind of job could I get in the hospital if I took a medical language course at my local community college because I heard from a friend of mine that I could get a job by taking the course but I don’t remember what kind of job. If you don’t know what other jobs in general are available to 17-18 year old in the hospital?

  1. Medical Language sounds like it’s just a medical terminology class which is often a required course for any health care job.

At my community college you have to take medical terminology/language in order to get the degree or certificate needed for these jobs:
    Medical Assisting
    Nursing
    Medical Insurance (billing)
    Phlebotomy
    Coding
    Dental Hygiene/Assisting
    Radiology Technology (x-ray technologist)

and is recommended for Medical Receptionist and EKG techs.

If you have no training in the medical field I highly doubt you’ll be able to get a job in hospital besides at a coffee cart, cafeteria, or gift shop. You should check if the hospital has a volunteer program because some places have a set up where you volunteer for 6-12 months or so and afterwards they give you a scholarship and almost always have a job waiting for you once you’re done getting your education. You may even be able to have certain classes waived because you’ve been working(volunteering) in a hospital.

Have your say!
