What kind of food can be mailed to me overseas?

Dr Oz 28 November 2008 Food 63 views 8 Comments

I am stuck in India for 6 months and dying for some meat (there’s no beef, pork, or turkey here). Is there any way possible to have some kind of food mailed to me safely? I was thinking of an Italian sub vacuum sealed and expressed mailed on dry ice. Or should I just give up all hope right now? Thanks!

  1. i’d say forget it pal.
The customs can smell it even when you’re thinking to pack them in vacuum sealed.

  2. I live in Izmir. Can you come here for eating?

I have had some canned pork and beef mailed to me in China. However, it takes a long time, because the items were in quarantine. If any government suspects opened items that could damage the agriculture production and natural environment areas, they will actually send the items to an incinerator. There are also fines that are imposed; those fines are honored by and collected by the United States Government.

  4. LOL, Give Up….

I’d Say Anything Canned….Oddles Of Noodles Packs…Flavored Pork/Beef….Is Gonna Be Your Best Bet…. Potted Meat..LOL…I Dunno But That Sub, On Dried Ice..LOL…I Doubt It…

  5. In which part of India are you in now? It’s sounds so strange that you find no meat there. Just go to New Delhi or Bombay.. you’ll find a lot of fresh meats there. No need to think about food mailing because the only food you could get is only canned food ;-)

  6. No meat of any kind can be mailed into the US. I know that, from out of the US but im not sure about exported from the US.What the hell do they eat then over there lama meat, rice and curry? maybe i could send you some gator meat ;P

  7. Just bits and bites. :) Customs will not allow food to cross the border. Try to find an importer over there. There is a market for food you want.

  8. Nope it’ll work, but remember you will definitely be paying for it!

Have your say!
